A man in Slemani spends 30 years in repairing photographic cameras

Mr. Salih has been fixing photographic cameras since the nineties of the last century. Most of Slemani city's residents know him and describe him as honest and skilled in repairing their cameras.

In an interview with PUKmedia, Salih Hama Karim stated, "My career in fixing photographic cameras began 30 years ago after I was working in repairing audio and electrical devices."

Regarding the difference between the old and new cameras, Hama Karim said, "The old cameras were mechanically working, their sizes were larger, and fixing them was difficult due to the lack of spare tools at the time. But now, the cameras are small in size and operate on a modern electronic system."

"Technology is indeed important in life, but in fact, it has lost the beauty and art in it. The cameras that used to work with Negative films 36, images were professional, creative, and aesthetic for the photographer in capturing the shots and expressive, but now the professional digital cameras have their images ready, and the creativity of the photographer does not interfere in them," he continued.

Salih Hama Karim, was born in Slemani in 1968. He has been working in repairing electronic devices since he was 15 years old.
