On Wednesday, the Directorate of Culture and Arts in Kirkuk organized the ninth solo exhibition of artist Dler Muhammad Sharif under the title (Zara Khatun and the Story of a Homeland).

The exhibition, which was held in the halls of the Cultural Center in the city of Kirkuk, included 30 paintings attended by a large group of artists, intellectuals, and writers of various nationalities and components.

Artist Dler Muhammad told PUKmedia, "The exhibition is a part of a series of exhibitions," pointing out that he keens on following the same style in his artworks since the 1990s and finding a special technique. So he was able to mix three painting styles; abstraction, expressionism, and impressionism.

He explained that his paintings are an expression of Kurdish folklore through the colors and symbols of clothing and that the important topics for him are the Kurdish stories that are related to the 1980s and above. Because the Kurdish society has been immigrating, starting from the mountains, and has generated various stories whether they relate to love or tragedy.

Muhammad explained that he chose the title (Zara Khatun and the Story of a Homeland) because a woman is a human being who is not different from a man. Stressing that the most important thing in life is women, so Kurdish women are mentioned in his paintings in terms of Kurdish folklore.
