Brother of PKK leader Osman Ocalan dies of Covid

Osman Ocalan, brother of the leader of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Abdullah Ocalan, died on Monday in a hospital in Erbil, as a result of complications after contracting the Covid virus.
Osman Ocalan was infected with the Covid several days ago, after which he was admitted to the hospital for treatment, but he died due to the complications caused by the virus.
He was born in 1958 in a village in north Kurdistan, the southeastern part of Turkey. He is the younger brother of Abdulla Ocalan, founder of the PKK which is a group fighting for Kurdish rights in Turkey.
Osman Ocalan defected from the Kurdistan Workers Party in 2004.
