Kurdistan Region VP Attends French National Day Celebration

On Monday evening, 14 July 2026, in Erbil, Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, attended a reception organised by the French Consulate General in the Kurdistan Region to mark French National Day.

The event was attended by government officials, political figures, academics, and representatives from institutions across the Kurdistan Region. In his remarks, Yann Braem, the French Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, expressed his pleasure at hosting the celebration, thanked those in attendance, and reaffirmed France’s commitment to further strengthening its ties with the Kurdistan Region.

Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa congratulated the French Consul General on the occasion and expressed his gratitude for France’s continued support for the Kurdistan Region.
