Qubad Talabani Applauds Women's Union's Drive to Modernise

Qubad Talabani's meeting with the Zhnan-Women’s Union of Kurdistan.

Qubad Talabani, Supervisor of the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal, met with Lava Hikmat, Supervisor of the Zhnan-Women’s Union of Kurdistan, and the organisation's directors to discuss its activities and ongoing reorganisation efforts.

During the meeting, held on Monday, 13 July 2026, the participants reviewed the Union's current activities and the steps being taken to restructure and strengthen the organisation.

Talabani commended the continued efforts of Hikmat and the Union's leadership, praising the measures introduced in recent months to renew and modernise the organisation.

He expressed confidence that these efforts would enable the Union to advocate more effectively for women's rights using modern approaches and become the organisation that women of Kurdistan need.

In another part of the meeting, the Supervisor of the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal called for greater efforts to develop women's capabilities across various fields and to support them in overcoming the challenges they face, so that, year by year, society moves closer to achieving greater freedom, equality and justice.

Talabani also stressed the importance of the Zhnan-Women's Union of Kurdistan continuing its efforts to raise women's legal awareness and promote equal rights before the law.
