Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with organisers of TEDx Ashti in Halabja, where the discussed ways to support initiatives that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and a strong, thriving civil society.

"Youth are not just the hope for the future, they are the primary energy and force in shaping the present," Talabani said a Facebook post.

"In Halabja, as in all other regions, a generation of young people has emerged with big dreams and great ideas, and no progress or development can be realised without their participation," he added. "I was pleased to meet with the organisers of TEDx Ashti and discuss ways to support initiatives that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and a strong, thriving civil society. "

"The dreams and ideas of these young people align with our regional development strategy," he said. "We are certain that through these youth, Halabja will achieve a brighter future and the prominent status it deserves."
