Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received on Sunday Romanian Ambassador to Iraq, Radu Octavian Dobre, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.

President Amedi received a congratulatory message from Romanian President Nicușor Dan on the occasion of assuming office as President of the Republic. 

In the message, President Dan conveyed his sincere congratulations on behalf of himself and the Romanian people, wishing President Amedi success in carrying out his duties and expressing Romania’s desire to further develop bilateral relations with Iraq and fully capitalize on the opportunities and potential available to both countries.

The meeting also reviewed prospects for advancing Iraq–Romania relations and ways to strengthen them across various fields. President Amedi underscored the importance of fostering effective partnerships and expanding avenues of coordination on issues of mutual interest.
