Iraqi President Receives Congratulatory Message from Swiss Confederation President

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received a congratulatory message on Monday, 11 May 2026, from the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin. The message was delivered by the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hunn, on the occasion of His Excellency assuming the presidency.

In his message, President Parmelin extended his congratulations and best wishes for success in office, particularly in view of the challenges facing the region. He also reaffirmed Switzerland’s commitment to further strengthening its distinguished relations with Iraq, with a particular focus on enhancing economic and trade cooperation.

For his part, President Amedi asked Ambassador Hunn to convey his greetings and appreciation to President Parmelin, stressing Iraq’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation and further consolidating ties between the two countries.
