Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Zeeshan Ahmed, at Baghdad Palace on Saturday, where the ambassador conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the President’s assumption of office, wishing him success in leading the country and advancing stability and development.

According to a statement by the Iraqi Presidency, the two sides placed particular emphasis on the strength of relations between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as President Amedi reaffirmed Baghdad’s commitment to advancing bilateral ties, saying: “Iraq remains committed to strengthening its relations with Pakistan and expanding cooperation, particularly in the economic and investment sectors.” 

He added: “We look forward to intensifying coordination on regional developments and working jointly to reinforce security and stability.”

Ambassador Ahmed expressed his country’s pride in the depth of its relations with Iraq, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further enhancing cooperation in a manner that serves the higher interests of both friendly nations and their peoples.
