President Amedi Meets IHEC Delegation, Stresses Integrity of Electoral Process

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi met with a delegation from the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), led by Chairman Omar Ahmed Mohammed, at Baghdad Palace on Wednesday, where the delegation offered congratulations on his assumption of office.

The meeting focused on supporting the Commission’s work and addressing the challenges it faces, with particular emphasis on safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.

In this context, President Amedi said, “Supporting the IHEC and addressing its challenges are key to safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process,” adding that “protecting its independence is essential to strengthening the democratic process.”

Members of the IHEC’s delegation, in turn, expressed their appreciation for the President’s support and reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the highest professional standards in carrying out their responsibilities.
