PUK Reaffirms Support for Kurdish Women’s Struggle and Role in Decision-Making

Rifaat Abdullah, Vice President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Lava Hikmat, head of the Zhnan-Women's Union of Kurdistan, and her accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the PUK Vice President reaffirmed its support for the new phase of the union’s struggle, expressing hope that it would maintain its civic character and keep pace with current developments.

Vice President Abdullah highlighted the important role played by the union in preparing and empowering many women leaders.

He also referred to the distinguished role of Hero Khan [Hero Ibrahim Ahmed] in the political and Peshmerga struggle, as well as her influential contribution to strengthening women’s presence within the women’s movement.

The PUK Vice President stressed that the party continues to work actively to consolidate the role of women as essential partners in decision-making and in building the future.
