Strike Disrupts Aid, Ceasefire at Risk.

The United Nations on Thursday urged an end to the escalation of hostilities and called for full respect for international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure.

UN Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, stated that Israel’s bombing of the Qasmiyeh Bridge in Lebanon has cut off areas south of the Litani River, disrupting the delivery of aid to thousands of Lebanese civilians.

He added that the ongoing military operations pose a serious risk to the ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

He stressed that there is no military solution to the conflict, reiterating the call for all parties to commit to an immediate ceasefire, end the escalation, and uphold international humanitarian law, particularly in safeguarding civilians and civilian infrastructure.
