Iraqi President Calls for Unity and Coexistence on Newroz

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid has issued a statement on the occasion of Newroz, emphasising the importance of strengthening coexistence and joint efforts to enhance stability and fulfil the aspirations of the Iraqi people.

The following is the president's statement:

"On the occasion of Newroz, we extend our warmest congratulations to the Kurdish people in Iraq and to Kurds around the world, with our sincere wishes for continued health, happiness, peace and prosperity.

Newroz, with its profound historical and cultural significance, symbolises renewal, rebirth and hope. It embodies the enduring values of freedom, solidarity and coexistence among the diverse components of our society. This cherished occasion also offers an opportunity to strengthen national unity and to promote the principles of mutual respect, tolerance and harmony among all people.

On this occasion, we take pride in the rich cultural and civilisational diversity that defines our country, and we reaffirm the importance of coexistence and collective efforts to strengthen stability and fulfill our people’s aspirations for a secure and prosperous future."
