PUK President and KIU Leader Discuss Regional Tensions and Political Cooperation

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Salahaddin Muhammad Bahaaddin, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), in Dabashan.

The meeting, which was also attended by Salar Sarhad, Head of Kurdistani Relations for the PUK, focused on the latest regional developments and the ongoing conflict.

President Bafel reaffirmed the PUK’s commitment to peaceful efforts, stating: “We remain in continuous contact with political parties in Iraq and Kurdistan to prevent the situation from escalating and to ensure that the Region and Iraq are not drawn into the conflicts.”

Both sides also underlined the importance of enhancing coordination and strengthening relations between the PUK and the KIU in order to serve citizens and safeguard their national interests.
