Mohammed Shia al-Sudani Chairs Security Meeting.
Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, visited the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command, where he chaired a meeting with senior military and security commanders. The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Interior, the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, the Head of the Counter-Terrorism Service, and the Secretary to the Commander-in-Chief.
During the visit, the Prime Minister received a comprehensive briefing on the security situation across the provinces, in light of current developments stemming from ongoing military operations and their repercussions for Iraq, as well as their broader regional and international implications.
The Commander-in-Chief stressed that there would be no tolerance for any attempt to draw Iraq into war or undermine its stability. He affirmed that the armed forces would continue to strengthen national security and safeguard the country’s supreme interests.
Al-Sudani also toured the Joint Operations Command’s control centre, where he underscored to security leaders that their legal and moral duty is to place Iraq’s interests above all else, enforce the law with the highest level of readiness, and prevent any party from dragging the country into conflict. He directed that any entity or security official found negligent in carrying out their duties during this critical period be held accountable.
In this context, the Commander-in-Chief ordered the dismissal of all intelligence officials in the Nineveh Plains Operations Sector, emphasising the need to exert every effort to preserve national security and protect the interests of the Iraqi people.
