General Mazloum Abdi Highlights Productive Meeting with President Bafel Jalal Talabani

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), General Mazloum Abdi, has described his meeting with Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), as fruitful and beneficial, saying it strengthened joint cooperation and reaffirmed their shared commitment to building strong and constructive relations.

In a post on the X platform, General Abdi said: “It was a pleasure to meet Mr Bafel Talabani, President of the PUK, in a fruitful and beneficial meeting. We value the partnership and working together to achieve a better future for our people. This meeting strengthens joint cooperation and reflects our commitment to building strong and productive relations.”

He added that he also held talks with the US Special Envoy to Syria, Mr Tom Barrack. The discussions focused on recent regional developments, including the 29 January agreement.

According to General Abdi, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to enhance stability and security in the region and to work together in addressing the challenges facing the Syrian people.
