PUK President: We Promise to Work to Strengthen the Kurdish Language in Every Sphere

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), marked International Mother Language Day by pledging to work towards strengthening the Kurdish language across all fields.

In his message for the occasion, President Bafel said:

"On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, I warmly congratulate the people of Kurdistan and all the devoted sons of our country who have struggled to preserve our language.

We are proud that the sweet Kurdish language is our own and a symbol of our national identity. It is our duty to protect this precious heritage that our ancestors entrusted to us.

On this day, we reaffirm that the preservation and development of our mother tongue is a shared responsibility of all individuals and communities in society, and we promise to work to strengthen the Kurdish language in every sphere."
