UK Epstein Files

Former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — previously known as Prince Andrew — has been arrested by UK police on Thursday, 19 February 2026, on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The arrest comes amid renewed scrutiny over his past connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that a man in his sixties from Norfolk was taken into custody and remains in police custody while investigations continue. In line with UK legal practice, the force did not name the individual in their statement, but British media outlets and official sources identify him as Mountbatten-Windsor.

Photographs from Thursday morning show police vehicles and plain-clothes officers at his residence on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk — and searches are also underway at addresses in both Norfolk and Berkshire. Mountbatten-Windsor, who turned 66 on the day of his arrest, was stripped of his royal titles last year amid public controversy surrounding his conduct and links to Epstein.

The misconduct allegation centres on his time as the UK’s trade envoy, with police reportedly examining whether he shared government information with Epstein or otherwise acted improperly while holding public office. Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.
