Deadly Clashes in Raqqa’s al-Shuaib Leave One Killed, Several Injured

A member of the Syrian Interim Government forces was killed and several others were injured today during clashes in the al-Shuaib neighbourhood of Raqqa.

Media sources reported that the fighting broke out between members of the Interim Government forces and unidentified gunmen. The neighbourhood witnessed an exchange of gunfire, resulting in one fatality and a number of injuries.

The reasons behind the clashes, as well as the identity of the gunmen, remain unclear. A tense atmosphere prevailed in the area following the incident.
