PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), has welcomed the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government, describing it as a vital step towards peacefully resolving disputes and ending prolonged conflict. He expressed hope that the agreement would open a new chapter in safeguarding the rights of the Kurds.
The following is PUK President’s statement:
I welcome the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government to peacefully resolve disputes and put an end to conflicts. I hope this will mark the beginning of securing the rights of all peoples and communities, especially the Kurds.
I extend my gratitude to the United States, France, and other intermediary countries, and I hope this agreement will lay the groundwork for lasting stability and development in Rojava and Syria.
From the depths of my heart, I extend my gratitude to all our citizens, especially the youth in Kurdistan and the diaspora, for their support of Rojava. Their message to the world is clear: the Kurds are united.
I recall the continuous efforts and steadfast resistance of General Mazloum Abdi for our people in Rojava, and I say to him: I take pride in your stance and, as always, I stand in support of you.
Bafel Jalal Talabani
President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
