Ilham Ahmed.
Ilham Ahmed, Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Rojava Autonomous Administration, expressed her gratitude to the United States and France for their role in mediating the recent agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Speaking via X, Ahmed emphasised that the deployment of security forces in the region is intended to ensure a responsible and gradual integration process.
Ilham Ahmed’s full statement reads:
We extend our sincere gratitude to the mediating countries and organisations, particularly the United States and France, for their tireless efforts in securing an agreement between the Syrian government and SDF. This accord represents a significant step towards stability, and we hope these states will continue to act as guarantors in the implementation of the integration process.
The deployment of security forces is designed to ensure a responsible and gradual integration, one that safeguards partnership, upholds the dignity of all communities, and lays the groundwork for fair and balanced development across the region.
We reaffirm our commitment to the successful completion of this integration process, which will serve Syria’s unity, strengthen civil peace, open a new chapter of stability and development, and guarantee the safe and dignified return of the people of Afrin and Ras al-Ayn to their homes.
