The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said in a statement that Damascus-affiliated armed factions launched an attack on the village of Baqila, south of Chal Agha, using seven suicide drones, describing the incident as a dangerous escalation.
In a statement, the SDF said the attack coincided with increased military activity by the same factions, including mobilisations and assaults on the villages of Al-Qasmiya and Zarkotek, west of Kobani. The SDF also said shelling targeted the vicinity of the village of Al-Safa, south of Chal Agha, indicating a sustained escalation across multiple fronts.
The SDF said these actions constitute a new and blatant breach of the ceasefire and a direct violation of existing agreements, warning that they risk further raising tensions in the region.
According to the statement, the SDF said the continued attacks compel its forces to exercise their right to defend their fighters and protect civilians in the affected areas.
