Lindsey Graham to Introduce ‘Save the Kurds Act’ Amid Rising Threats in Syria

US Senator Lindsey Graham expressed deep concern over the worsening situation in Syria, warning that the Kurds are facing significant threats.

In a post on X, Graham stressed the strategic importance of the Kurdish forces, describing them as “the chief ally in destroying the ISIS caliphate.” He warned that abandoning the Kurds would be a “disaster for America’s reputation and national security interests.”

To address the situation, Graham announced plans to introduce new legislation this week. The Save the Kurds Act is aimed at imposing severe sanctions on any government or group that engages in hostilities against the Kurds. He emphasised that the bill is designed to be robust and effective, and expressed confidence it will receive strong bipartisan support in Congress.
