Sudani Chairs Coordination Framework Meeting on Security Readiness

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani chaired a meeting of the Coordination Framework on Thursday, focusing on the preparedness of Iraq’s armed forces and the latest regional developments.
According to a statement issued by the Coordination Framework’s media office, the meeting was attended by senior political and security figures, including the head of the Popular Mobilisation Forces, Faleh al-Fayyad, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi.
The statement said discussions centred on the current security situation and the level of readiness of Iraq’s armed and security forces across all formations. This review comes as part of continued efforts following Prime Minister al-Sudani’s recent visit to the Iraqi-Syrian border areas.
They also examined regional and international developments, with particular attention given to the rapidly changing situation in Syria. The meeting stressed the importance of intensifying security measures to safeguard and sustain the stability and security currently enjoyed by Iraq.
