U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he had held a “very good” telephone call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte regarding Greenland.

President Trump also said he had agreed to hold a meeting involving various parties at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, though he did not specify who would take part.

“As I expressed to everyone, very plainly, Greenland is imperative for National and World Security. There can be no going back - On that, everyone agrees!” President Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

Earlier, President Trump told reporters that the United States would raise the issue of acquiring Greenland during the Davos forum, arguing that Denmark is unable to adequately protect the territory.
