Admiral Brad Cooper.
The Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, said the United States is closely monitoring developments in the Syrian city of Aleppo and its surrounding areas, amid rising tensions and ongoing military activity.
In a statement, Cooper urged all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint and avoid actions that could further escalate the situation. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the protection of civilians and safeguarding critical infrastructure.
The CENTCOM commander also called on all relevant actors to return to the negotiating table in good faith and pursue a durable diplomatic resolution through dialogue. He stressed that lasting stability can only be achieved through peaceful means rather than continued confrontation.
Cooper noted that a Syria at peace with itself and its neighbors could contribute to a more peaceful and prosperous Middle East, adding that both the United States and Syria share an interest in preserving peace and stability across the region.
