After being closed for nine and a half months, Voice of America (VOA) Kurdish will resume operations.

According to information available to PUKMEDIA, several key members of VOA Kurdish’s staff have been notified by email to return to work, signalling the reopening of the service.

However, it remains unclear when will the resumption take place as reporters and some other staff members have not yet been asked to return, and no official timeline has been announced for the restart of broadcasts.

Uncertainty remains over whether VOA Kurdish will fully resume its programmes with its core staff, or whether operations will continue in a limited capacity.
