A Turkish historian and academic has stated that the Kurdish language predates both Persian and Arabic.

Celâl Şengör, a prominent Turkish historian and professor, has said that Kurdish is among the oldest languages in the world and that its roots extend further back than those of Persian and Arabic.

“We can say that Kurdish is one of the oldest languages in the world, somewhat older than Persian and Arabic. When we examine scientific research and the origins of languages, we find that Kurdish can be regarded as a mother of all languages,” Şengör said.

He stressed that the Kurdish language possesses a rich and original linguistic history and called for greater academic and scholarly attention to these findings.

Şengör is a well-known Turkish professor and historian whose research regularly attracts media interest, and whose statements often generate widespread discussion.
