Rifaat Abdullah, Vice President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), conveyed his congratulations to the people of Kurdistan on the occasion of the New Year 2026, expressing hope that it would represent a fresh start for collective action, the resolution of challenges, and the safeguarding of the people’s rights.

The text of the PUK VP’s New Year message reads as follows:

On the occasion of the New Year 2026, I extend my sincere congratulations to all the people of Kurdistan. I hope that the year ahead will bring prosperity, further achievements, and comprehensive development and renewal across the Kurdistan Region.

I pray to Almighty God that the New Year will mark the beginning of a new phase of joint effort, strengthening the position of the Kurdistan Region, securing our legitimate rights, and advancing with a spirit of shared national responsibility towards a more hopeful and prosperous future.
