A new airline has begun operating flights to Sulaymaniyah International Airport, with Pegasus Airlines launching its first service on Saturday morning, becoming the third Turkish airline to operate in the city.

Dana Mohammed Saeed, Head of Public Relations and Media at Sulaymaniyah International Airport, told PUKMEDIA that the inaugural Pegasus Airlines flight arrived on 27 December 2025.

“According to the announced schedule, Pegasus Airlines will operate three flights per week on the Istanbul–Sulaymaniyah–Istanbul route,” Saeed said, adding that the new service will contribute to expanding the airport’s flight schedule.

In a statement, Sulaymaniyah International Airport confirmed that the launch of Pegasus Airlines flights comes as part of ongoing efforts to expand and diversify air services at the airport.

Flights between Türkiye and Sulaymaniyah had been suspended since 3 April, 2023, before the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority announced the resumption of flights to Sulaymaniyah International Airport on 15 October 2025. The first flight following the decision was conducted on 2 November 2025.

In a separate statement issued on 3 December 2025, the Sulaymaniyah International Airport administration confirmed that AJet had resumed services to the city, becoming the second international carrier to reinstate flights following the reopening of the Sulaymaniyah–Türkiye route.

The launch of Pegasus Airlines services further strengthens air connectivity between Sulaymaniyah and Türkiye.
