PUK President: Our Goal Is Turning the Peshmerga Into a Strong and Unified National Force

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani's meeting with Major General Omar Salih, Commander of the Forces 70 of the Peshmerga.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Major General Omar Salih, Commander of the Forces 70 of the Peshmerga, in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.

The two sides reviewed the latest developments in the process of establishing a new regional command and military division within the ranks of the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces.

President Bafel expressed his appreciation for the role and sacrifices of the Forces 70, stating: “We remain deeply indebted to your bravery and efforts.”

The PUK President also underscored the importance of the unification and reorganisation process within the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces, stating: “Our goal is to turn the Peshmerga into a strong and unified national force capable, as always, of defending the sacred land of Kurdistan.”
