Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Commander Akam Omar Marked by Commando Forces

Tomorrow, Friday, 12 December 2025, marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Commander Akam Omar, leader of the Kurdistan Commando Forces. This exceptional commander gave his life for the homeland, fulfilling his pledge and sacrificing himself for Kurdistan.
On this occasion, the Commando Forces Command issued a statement, a copy of which was received by PUKMEDIA. The statement read: “Tomorrow, Friday, marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Commander, brother, and comrade Akam Omar, who has become a shining symbol of the struggle of the Kurdish people. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all the people of Kurdistan.”
The statement continued: “On this day, we honour the memory of this commander and renew our pledge to follow his path of love for the land and the homeland. This courageous and noble leader left his brothers in the Commando Forces a path to follow, always urging them to serve and assist the citizens in every way.”
The Command concluded by affirming: “We in the Commando Forces will continue to follow the path of the martyred Commander Akam Omar, and we will continue to help and rescue citizens during disasters and accidents. This is the least service we can offer to the citizens and the masses of the people of Kurdistan.”
