Iraqi Presidency Calls for Urgent Coordination to Aid Flood-Hit Areas in Kurdistan

Flooding affected several areas of the Kurdistan Region on Tuesday.
The Iraqi Presidency has urged immediate coordination between federal authorities and the Kurdistan Regional Government to support citizens affected by the floods that struck several parts of the Region on Tuesday, 8 December 2025.
In a statement received by PUKMEDIA, the Presidency confirmed that it is closely monitoring the situation following the heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding, which led to casualties, injuries and substantial material loss across multiple areas.
Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic events, the Presidency conveyed its solidarity with the families of the victims and injured, as well as with those whose homes and properties have been damaged.
The statement further called on the relevant federal bodies to take swift action, work alongside the Kurdistan Regional Government, and ensure that relief and assistance reach affected citizens as quickly as possible.
The Presidency concluded with a prayer for mercy for the victims, a speedy recovery for the injured, and safety and protection for all the people of Iraq.
