Iraqi First Lady Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed welcomed a delegation of deputy mayors from northern Kurdistan.

Iraqi First Lady Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed welcomed a delegation of deputy mayors from northern Kurdistan during a meeting held at the Zamwa Museum in Sulaymaniyah.

After greeting the visiting officials, discussions centred on the peace process and efforts to resolve the Kurdish issue. First Lady Shanaz expressed her hope that the existing peace would endure and continue to strengthen in the period ahead.

The delegation toured several parts of the Zamwa Museum, where they viewed the extensive literary and political legacy of the late Ibrahim Ahmed.

The visiting delegation included Ayten Kaya, Deputy Mayor of Suruç; Sevim Besishi, Deputy Mayor of Silvan; Safiye Akdağ, Deputy Mayor of Diyarbakir; and Gülbin Şahin, Deputy Mayor of Nusaybin.
