Rifaat Abdullah, PUK VP.
Rifaat Abdullah, Vice President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), honoured the martyrs whose sacrifices have shaped the proud history of the party and inspired generations. In his message, he reaffirmed the PUK’s commitment to the path of “living a little, but with dignity,” a path made synonymous with resistance, sacrifice, and the enduring struggle for the freedom and liberation of Kurdistan.
The following is PUK VP’s message:
The martyrs have played a pivotal role in the PUK’s proud history of struggle, serving as an enduring inspiration for every generation of the movement. They have also come to embody the very identity of the PUK, earning it the honoured distinction of being known as the party of martyrs. This designation reflects that no corner of Kurdistan remains untouched by the blood of PUK leaders, commanders, and Peshmerga. It also places upon us a solemn duty to remain ever faithful to their sacrifice and to uphold the goals and aspirations for which they gave their lives—the freedom and liberation of Kurdistan.
The PUK has spilled a river of blood in pursuit of Kurdistan’s freedom and accomplishments. This anniversary stands as a significant national occasion in the calendar of our people.
On PUK Martyrs’ Day, we reaffirm our loyalty to the path of “living a little, but with dignity,” a path that the leaders of the PUK have made synonymous with resistance, sacrifice, and the enduring symbol of martyrdom.
This significant anniversary offers an opportunity to renew the struggle alongside the people. We reaffirm our pledge to the martyrs that the fight for citizens’ legitimate rights, for justice, and for the eradication of discrimination and dictatorship, continues unabated. We remain ever at the service of the families and proud descendants of the martyrs.
Tribute to the souls of the martyrs of the PUK, the New Revolution, and all the martyrs of Kurdistan.
Rifaat Abdullah
Vice President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
