PUK Delegation meets Iraqi PM.
A senior delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) met in Baghdad with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani to discuss the roadmap for the next stage and the formation of the new federal government.
The PUK delegation consisted of Nizar Amedi, head of the PUK Political Bureau in Baghdad; Khalid Shwani, Minister of Justice; and Rizgar Haji Hama, Head of the Elections Bureau.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed mechanisms to strengthen partnership and cooperation among national forces, to accelerate the steps required to form a government capable of addressing the priorities of the current phase. The discussions highlighted the need to continue the reform, reconstruction, and development process across all provinces of Iraq.
The two parties exchanged congratulations on the successful conclusion of the parliamentary elections and assessed the latest political developments. They stressed the importance of collective action and coordination to preserve political stability, uphold the Constitution, and reinforce state institutions as key guarantees for protecting citizens’ rights.
