The 28th Galawezh International Festival is set to be held tomorrow, running for three days and showcasing writers, authors and cultural figures from the Kurdish, Arab and Persian communities.
Previously, Dr Ibtissam Ismail Qadir, President of the Galawezh Centre, told PUKMEDIA: “The festival will commence on 20 November in Sulaymaniyah and will continue for three days.”
She added: “The opening ceremony will feature a variety of artistic performances. On the second day, the submitted works — including poems, stories and research papers — will be discussed and evaluated. There will also be a session examining the influence of artificial intelligence on the cultural and literary scene.”
She explained that “on the final day, prizes will be awarded to the winning entries, followed by the closing ceremony, which will include musical performances, singing and poetry readings.” She also noted that, alongside the main festival events, there will be a book fair, an art exhibition honouring the late artists Lala Abda and Qarani Jamil, and a handicrafts exhibition.
