Qubad Talabani, Supervisor of the electoral campaign of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) List 222 in the Erbil constituency, addressed comrades from the Warte and Qasre electoral districts, emphasising the party’s concrete approach to governance:
“What we promise is not mere election slogans; these are the PUK’s strategies in action. When we pledge to fundamentally resolve budget and salary issues, to ensure no discrimination between farmers here and in other regions, to equalise salaries across all classes with the rest of Iraq, and to distribute fuel and gasoline at the same price as other regions, these are not empty promises. They reflect the PUK’s strategy, built and implemented over the past three years, and we will continue to pursue them. They uphold the constitutional rights of the Kurdish people, which we demand be fully implemented, article by article.”
Talabani concluded by urging the Kurdish people to strengthen the PUK’s position in Baghdad to safeguard and guarantee these constitutional rights in the upcoming elections.
