Qubad Talabani, Supervisor of the electoral campaign of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) List 222 in the Erbil constituency, reaffirmed that the PUK will not tolerate betrayal and will firmly respond to any injustice against its members and comrades.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Talabani stated: “Everyone knows that where the PUK is dominant, it has never allowed and will never allow any office or institution to discriminate among citizens based on party affiliation or political stance. Yet, everyone is also aware of how the PUK and other parties have been subjected to betrayal elsewhere.”

He added: “I emphasised to the comrades of the beautiful town of Rawanduz that this PUK will not accept betrayal and will stand firmly against any injustice towards our comrades, because if we cannot protect our members and supporters, we cannot be worthy representatives of the Kurdish people or defenders of their legitimate rights.”

The PUK is contesting the 2025 Iraqi parliamentary elections, scheduled for 11 November, across several governorates, presenting its candidates on an independent list numbered 222 in Erbil, Sulaymaniyah (including Halabja), Duhok, Kirkuk, and Diyala.
