Qubad Talabani, supervisor of the electoral campaign for List 222 of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in the Erbil constituency, urged social figures of Erbil to use their influence and voice to encourage greater public participation in the elections and to vote for the PUK — because a strong PUK, empowered by the people’s vote, can more effectively address the challenges facing the people of Kurdistan in Baghdad 

"In all cities, towns, and villages across Kurdistan, social figures have always played a positive role in promoting social peace, guiding communities toward decisions that serve the public good. Social figures are pillars of safeguarding Kurdistan society," Talabani said in a post on his Facebook page.

He added: "I was pleased and honoured to meet with a number of social figures in Erbil. I explained why strengthening the PUK’s position in Baghdad is in the best interest of the Kurdistan people in this election. I urged them to use their influence and voice to encourage greater public participation in the elections and to vote for the PUK — because a strong PUK, empowered by the people’s vote, can more effectively address the challenges facing the people of Kurdistan in Baghdad and defend our legitimate and constitutional rights."
