Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Member of the Political Bureau and Head of the Relations Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Faramarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Speaking about preparations for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, Rasul emphasised the importance of the elections in preserving stability and balance across Iraq.

He stated: “The PUK is the main pillar in maintaining all balances, both in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.”

He further noted, “When we say we are your power in Baghdad, this is not merely a slogan — it reflects the PUK’s work programme. In the next stage, we will act according to this policy.”
