Member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) Political Bureau, Imad Ahmed, stressed that the PUK’s true strength stems from its popular base, noting that the party’s pragmatic approach and ability to interpret and monitor events allow it to play a key and decisive role in Baghdad, guiding disputes in a way that serves the citizens’ interests.
Imad Ahmed made these remarks during a public rally in Sulaymaniyah in support of List 222 ahead of the upcoming elections. In his speech, he affirmed that the PUK has always been—and remains—the strength and voice of the people in both the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, adhering to the political path set by President Mam Jalal. He highlighted that any compromises made by the PUK have always been at its own cost, never at the expense of the citizens, underscoring the party’s decisive role in resolving disputes and defending the people’s rights and aspirations.
He added, “Any promise made by the PUK and its president will undoubtedly be honoured. We will uphold the trust of our citizens by implementing realistic programmes and responsible national visions that address the demands of the current stage.” Imad Ahmed further stressed that it is the duty of everyone—particularly those who wish to improve the standard of living of citizens—to ensure the success of List 222, as the PUK’s victory and the attainment of the highest number of votes will secure the well-being of citizens in the capital, Baghdad.
