PUK President, Bafel Jalal Talabani.
A public carnival was held today, Thursday, in the city of Chamchamal to present the candidates of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) List No. 222. The event was attended by Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
In his address at the carnival, President Bafel stressed that the PUK represents the people’s power in Baghdad and will continue to work tirelessly in their service.
President Bafel highlighted the city’s contributions, stating: “Chamchamal has made tremendous sacrifices throughout the Kurdish people’s ongoing struggle. When I met with the federal prime minister, I urged him to give greater attention to Chamchamal, as it is rich in natural gas and powers all the electricity plants operating across the Kurdistan Region.”
He went on to say: “We must ensure that this extracted gas benefits the people of Chamchamal, and we are committed to securing the city’s rights through Baghdad. We will not allow Chamchamal to remain in its current state, nor will we form any government in the Kurdistan Region unless it serves its citizens. I call on everyone to head to the polls and vote for List 222.”
