During an election rally for List 222 in the 14th Khabat, 18th Topzawa, and 15th Qushtapa electoral districts of Erbil constituency on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, Qubad Talabani emphasised that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) represents all citizens dissatisfied with the current government in Kurdistan. He added that the PUK is committed to resolving issues with Baghdad in accordance with the Constitution.
"In previous elections, many citizens who were dissatisfied cast their votes for other parties," he said. "They should now ask themselves: did their votes make any difference in solving the problems?"
He added: "Voting by frustrated citizens for other parties in the past, unfortunately, disrupted the balance of power, benefiting the KDP and its ‘divide and rule’ policy. The current PUK has ended that era and that approach, making the party stronger than ever."
"If those dissatisfied with the government vote for PUK List 222 in the upcoming elections, we can resolve our issues with Baghdad and correct the course of governance in the Region, with renewed strength," he further said.
