Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received on Monday, 20 October 2025, Mohammad Kazem al-Sadegh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, at Baghdad Palace to discuss ways to further strengthen relations between the two neighbouring countries.

During the meeting, President Rashid reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and expanding joint initiatives that serve the mutual interests of both nations, while contributing to regional stability and security.

Ambassador al-Sadegh expressed his appreciation for President Rashid’s efforts to foster closer ties and promote regional peace. He also reiterated Iran’s readiness to enhance cooperation with Iraq, based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect, and good neighbourliness.
