Global oil prices edged higher today after US President Donald Trump stated that India had agreed to stop purchasing Russian oil, prompting a short-term market reaction amid uncertainty about the claim’s implications.

According to Reuters, Brent crude rose by around 1 percent to approximately $62.45 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) gained nearly 0.98 percent, reaching $58.84 per barrel.
