PUK Kirkuk Iraqi parliament Elections PUK 222 Iraq Kurdistan Region

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has launched its first electoral carnival in Kirkuk on Monday, 13 October 2025, aimed at introducing the party's candidates for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections.

The event drew a large crowd of PUK members, supporters, and local residents, reflecting strong public engagement in the campaign activities across the governorate.

Addressing attendees, Aso Mamand, Head of the PUK's Kirkuk-Saladin Organisations, reaffirmed the PUK’s enduring strength and deep roots in Kirkuk, stating: “The PUK is number one in Kirkuk and will remain so. The people of Kirkuk are part of the PUK.”

He added that the PUK has always stood alongside the people of Kirkuk, recalling their shared struggles and commitment to the city’s stability and progress.

“We have faced the enemy with the people of Kirkuk in the past, and we will remain with them until our last breath. Our goal is to make Kirkuk an iconic city and to serve it even more,” he said.

The carnival forms part of the PUK’s broader campaign efforts to strengthen its electoral presence and reaffirm its political and social bond with the diverse communities of Kirkuk.
