Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received Kirkuk Governor Rebwar Taha, in Baghdad on Saturday, 11 October 2025.
During the meeting, they discussed the overall service, administrative, and security situation in the governorate, as well as mechanisms to enhance public services and support development efforts aimed at improving the living standards of Kirkuk’s residents.
President Rashid underscored the importance of Kirkuk Governorate as a model of diversity and coexistence among its various communities. He highlighted the need to work in a spirit of national responsibility and to strengthen coordination between the federal government and the local administration in Kirkuk to deliver services, develop infrastructure, and expand essential projects that directly impact citizens’ lives.
He also stressed the importance of investing available resources and local capacities in implementing development initiatives efficiently and transparently, to reinforce public trust in government institutions and promote stability and prosperity across the governorate.
Governor Taha reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to advancing service delivery and development projects, expressing his appreciation for President Rashid’s continued support and guidance to expedite the implementation of key initiatives in the governorate.
