Meet PUK Candidates for 2025 Iraqi Parliamentary Elections in Baghdad and Saladin

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is contesting the 2025 Iraqi parliamentary elections, scheduled for 11 November, across several governorates. It is presenting its candidates on an independent list numbered 222 in Erbil, Sulaymaniyah (including Halabja), Duhok, Kirkuk, and Diyala. In Nineveh, the PUK is running as part of the Nineveh People’s Union Coalition with list number 281, while in Saladin it is fielding one candidate under the National Masses Coalition with list number 240. In Baghdad, the PUK is participating on the Reconstruction and Development Coalition list, number 207.
Overall, the PUK has 156 candidates: 36 in Sulaymaniyah, 30 in Erbil, 5 in Duhok, 24 in Kirkuk, 28 in Diyala, 31 in Nineveh under the Nineveh People’s Union Coalition, and one candidate each in Saladin and Baghdad.
In Saladin, the PUK’s sole candidate is Karim Shukur Mohammed, listed as number 2 on the National Masses Coalition list. In Baghdad, the party’s only candidate is Ayat Adam, number 89 on the Reconstruction and Development Coalition list. Altogether, the PUK has candidates in eight provinces across Iraq, making it the only Kurdish party with representation in the majority of Iraqi governorates.
