President Rashid Visits Iraqi Museum, Emphasises National Duty to Protect Heritage

President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, visited the Iraqi Museum in Baghdad on Wednesday, 8 October 2025.

He toured the museum’s various halls and sections, receiving a detailed briefing on national efforts to preserve and restore artefacts, including those that have been recovered.

During his visit, President Rashid underscored that safeguarding this heritage is both a national and moral duty, requiring cooperation and coordination between government bodies and the wider community, as well as promoting awareness of history’s value as a guide for nations and a foundation for progress and prosperity.

President Rashid commended the museum’s administration and staff for their dedication to protecting this human heritage, stressing the importance of providing museums with modern tools for restoration, documentation, and exhibition.
